Unsteady Analysis of Viscoelastic Blood Flow through Arterial Stenosis
A mathematical model of unsteady non-Newtonian blood flow in an artery under stenotic condition has been developed. The flowing blood is considered to be a viscoelastic fluid characterized by the Oldroyd-B model and the arterial wall is considered to be rigid, having cosine-shaped stenosis. The governing equations of motion accompanied by appropriate choice of the initial and boundary condition...
متن کاملunsteady free surface flow in corrugated drainage pipes: finite volume solution and experimental verification
a subsurface drainage network mainly carries unsteady flow and data are not usually available for model parameters calibration in such networks. in the present research, the finite volume method using the time splitting scheme was employed to develop a computer code for solving the one dimensional unsteady flow equations. using corrugated sub drainage pipes, an experimental prototype setup was ...
متن کاملSediment Transport in Unsteady Flow Conditions
Sediment transport under unsteady flow condition is studied experimentally. In the first step, sediment transport under different steady flow conditions was measured and an empirical equation was derived for its calculation. In the next step, two continuous and three stepwise hydrographs were generated in the flume, and their sediment transport rate was measured. The continuous hydrographs were...
متن کاملNumerical approximation of viscoelastic Oldroyd-B flows in curved pipes
The aim of this paper is to study a finite element numerical approximation of steady flows of an incompressible viscoelastic Oldroyd-B fluid in curved pipes of arbitrary cross-section and curvature ratio. Using rectangular toroidal coordinates, existence and uniqueness of approximated solutions are proved as well as a priori error estimates, under a natural restriction on the pipe curvature ratio.
متن کاملUnsteady Stagnation-Point Flow of a Viscoelastic Fluid in the Presence of a Magnetic Field
The unsteady two-dimensional stagnation point flow of the Walters B’ fluid impinging on an infinite plate in the presence of a transverse magnetic field is examined and solutions are obtained. It is assumed that the infinite plate at y 0 is making harmonic oscillations in its own plane. A finite difference technique is employed and solutions for small and large frequencies of the oscillations a...
